At Inelco Grinders A/S, we have a clear ambition to take our sustainability efforts to new heights. As part of our ongoing commitment to reducing our CO₂eq footprint and optimizing our ESG reporting, we partnered with Lead the Talent for an intensive program from December 2024 to February 2025. The goal was to establish a structured approach to delivering CO₂eq data at the product and spare parts level to our customers and to lay the foundation for our first ESG report. The result? Concrete guidelines and process descriptions that ensure we can move forward with great impact.
The Starting Point: A Need for Structure and Data Collection
Over the years, we have worked to reduce our environmental impact by optimizing production processes and implementing recycling programs. To take the next step in our sustainability journey, we needed to map out how we could integrate CO₂eq and ESG data into our ERP system. Our goal was to ensure that we report on the right parameters and effectively communicate our climate accounting with both suppliers and customers.
Collaboration with Lead the Talent
With the help of Lead the Talent, we had a team of talented individuals who immersed themselves in our company and worked diligently to create a tailored solution. Their approach was structured and focused on three key areas:
- Mapping our current systems – How do we currently collect data, and where can we improve processes?
- Developing procedures – What concrete steps must we take to ensure correct data collection and management?
- ESG reporting recommendations – What key figures and indicators are essential for us as a company?
Our Key Results
Thanks to the efforts of the Lead the Talent team, we are now much better equipped to take our ESG work to the next level. Here are some of the most significant results:
- A structured approach to CO₂eq data: We now have a plan for how we can register and analyze CO₂eq footprints at the product level when we receive data from our suppliers.
- Procedures for ESG reporting: We have defined the most critical ESG key figures and developed processes that ensure a more systematic data collection.
- Automation of manual processes: The team identified opportunities to streamline our work by integrating data across our ERP system and Power BI.
The Road Ahead
The program with Lead the Talent has provided us with a solid foundation to build upon. We now have a concrete action plan and execution strategy that ensures our sustainability efforts will not just remain a project but become an integrated part of our daily operations. We look forward to implementing the learned processes and continuing our journey toward a more sustainable future.
We would like to extend our gratitude to Lead the Talent and the talented individuals—Thomas Maanson Lund, Kristian Petersen, Yagmur Ozinal Avsar, Johanne Davidsen, and Mikkel Hoppe—who have supported us on this journey. Their efforts have made a significant difference, and we would not have been able to take these important steps without their expertise and dedication.
Follow along on our journey!
